BlissControl - How to easily change your social media settings

BlissControl could save you a lot of time managing your social profiles.

The premise of the site is pretty simple – you choose a platform and a setting that you want to change and BlissControl will take you to the page that allows you to do it.

Why a tool like BlissControl matters

Last week I wrote a piece about the downward spiral of Facebook advertising.  In it I point out that there are some little used opt-out privacy controls that Facebook makes available to all users that very few people know about.  Twitter recently added an opt-out feature in their settings which authorizes them to track your activity on any site within the Twitter ecosystem.

Privacy on social networks is nearly non-existent.  The controls afforded users are oftentimes designed as an opt-out, with the pages not easily findable.  BlissControl may be the navigation tool necessary to help you take control of whatever vestige of privacy these social networks allow you to keep.

Using BlissControl

BlissControl is so simple and intuitive to use that it probably isn’t worthwhile trying to describe it, but the interface allows for two variables: what to change and the network to change it with.  Set those, hit go and the application takes you where ever you need to go to update your settings.  It’s pretty handy.

I see social media as a huge differentiator for small businesses and try to tailor my insights to support that view. I am the 12th most influential social media blogger according to Kred, and the single most influential person on the topic of David Hasselhoff according to Klout. Neither of those is probably true.
